Introducing miss Kyla Grace...

So our doctors decided to induce labor in my 39th week due to the antibodies I had created. It was weird knowing we were going to the hospital to have a baby and I wasn't even in pain. We were up and leaving at 5 am, which was pretty early for Gene but he did okay with it. Here is the last belly picture:

A picture of mommy and daddy before they had started anything. Once they broke my water and started my pitocin I didn't even make it 2 hours before I was asking for an epidural. I thought that I would wait so I could get up but since the doctor broke my water I wasn't allowed out of bed anyways, so why not be numb.

Kyla Grace was born at 1:47 pm May 17th. She was 6lbs 12 oz and 20 inches long. When they placed her on my chest I thought she looked so much like what Dylan did when he was born but the more I see her now the less she does. Delivery was a little different this time I went from 6 cm, 75% to fully dilated and fully efaced in less then a 1/2 hour, which didn't give my redose for my epidural time to kick in on my right side so I got to feel everything on that side. I guess it was helpful because I did not want to stop pushing and she was out in like 15 minutes. So glad it didn't take as long as it did with Dylan, it was very painful. But here she is and she was worth every bit of it:

Dylan was so excited to meet her. But he quickly became more interested in mommy's water and all of the things mommy was hooked up to.

He is so proud.Daddy and his baby girl. This is after she had to be in the CCN, its like NICU but not as serious and the babies are allowed to go back and forth from their parents to the unit. They were watching her for jaundice and anemia. They were pretty sure she would eventually need the bili lights for her jaundice.

And she did. It was very hard the first time I saw her in here but it got easier she always seemed pretty content when I would go to check on her.
Finally going home. She had to stay one extra day on the lights so we came home on Thursday.
Here are some pictures from our first night home and the following day. We got a call Friday afternoon that her blood test from that morning had went way up and she needed to be readmitted. This was by far the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I hated that I had to take her back and not hold her again while she was on the lights. I was so upset that I had to turn around and leave Dylan again after we had just come home with him. We finally found a middle ground and I ended up leaving her overnight Friday to come back home with Dylan and went straight back up Saturday morning with her and stayed until Sunday afternoon when she got to come home for good.

Her heels looked awful from all of the sticks. They almost looked purple from all of them.

So we got to come home on Sunday but she had to be on whats called a bili blanket. It had to be plugged into the wall so it was incredibly annoying. She could only come off for feedings and diaper changes. But it was so much work to get it back on that didn't always take it off for those. She got to come off of it on Thursday and everything looks great now. We are finally getting to adjust to the fun of having 2 children and its been extremely wonderful and exhausting all at the same time.

So we're down to 3 weeks until the new baby comes. Dylan is pretty funny, we've been talking more about his baby sister coming, especially because he is in his new big boy room/bed and the nursery has been re-finished for his new baby sister. The other day he looked at me and said "I want to hold my baby sister" I told him he'd have to wait because she was still in mommy's tummy, but that when she came out he could hold her all he wanted. He just said "oh" and went on. He is getting to be such a character. I have a video of him showing me how he gets so big, but it's on Gene's phone so I will have to get him to send it to me so I can post it, it's hilarious. Here's a picture though that might show a little bit of his character
Daddy pulled his shirt up like this and he just thought it was so funny. Now he tries to do it all of the time. He is stretching the neck hole out of all his shirts, but its still pretty funny. Here's a picture of part of Dylan's new room
Gene built this shelf and then I got the totes from Target. I love it. It's so much better than just a toy box, because he can find of all his toys and he doesn't climb in and out of the box and get hurt anymore. He was so excited when we cleaned out the other toy box, he found so many "new" toys. He is doing pretty good with the new bed too. He will get up in the middle of the night and come find me sometimes but its not as bad as I thought it would be. I can always hear him coming so I just meet him halfway and take him back to bed. He's been sleeping pretty good though. We've only had a few bad nights so far.

One last picture here is the painted nursery. Still need to get decorations up and everything put away but here it is so far:

And I will have you know that I, not Gene, did that straight line. I was for sure I couldn't do it so it would look nice, but Gene has so many other projects he's trying to get done for me and he's coaching baseball so he hasn't had a lot of time to help me with the nursery and I was getting very anxious to get the paint colors on and see them that I just did it myself. Gene did tell me how to do it so it would be straight, but I was so excited when it turned out so nice. And the brown on the bottom was left over from our bedroom so we saved money there. I'd like to get some stuffed animals and some more flower things to hang to make it more babyish but this probably one of my favorite rooms right now.
Well, I will post a belly pic now. I am almost 37 weeks, and feeling every inch of this baby. She feels big, or maybe its just she's long I don't know, but she is definitley running out of room.

And yes that's Gene's t-shirt and it's getting too small. I am going to make it on what clothes I have left, even if that means wearing belly tops. I will not buy more maternity clothes.

I hope you all enjoy, my next post will probably be with the new baby and considering my past record on how often I get on here she might be 6 months old by then.

Catch up...oops sorry

So Dylan turned 2 in March. Time is going so fast I can't believe it. We had the party here and it went great. He got all kinds of Toy Story things. Probably his favorite were his Buzz rubber boots and his toy Woody doll. He didn't take the boots all night and then he cried when I did. Here are a few pictures from his party.
After everyone left we were sitting and relaxing when we heard Dylan saying "I eat my happy birthday cake" and in my mind I'm thinking what's he talking about I put all of the cake away. So we get up to go see and here's what we find
Yep that is straight icing at 9pm. It was pretty funny though.

Here is Dylan's 2 year picture that aunt Janna did for us:

I absolutely love this picture of him. I'm glad Janna was able to do it because he wouldn't have been fun at a photo studio at all. He is not one to be confined thats for sure. I will post again soon about Easter and how the pregnancy is going, but right now I'm too tired.

Snow days

I have officially decided that winter is too long and I dislike it very much. It is too cold and I hate be cold, it causes doggy footprints through the house which makes cleaning the floors never ending, and you can not take your 2 year old out very often to run off energy. Being stuck in the house all winter really is starting to take it's toll on Dylan and I. I am going stir crazy and he doesn't know what to do with all his energy so he has become destructive. Now I know that maybe that's just a given trait for a toddler boy, but some days I think I'm going crazy. So this week I said we are going outside I don't care how many layers we have to put on we are going out. So after 45 minutes of getting on layer after layer, while chasing him to do it, we made outside. Dylan actually really enjoyed and so did I. He had a little trouble walking in places because it was too deep so I'd have to carry him, and let me tell that is no small task anymore. But we did get out his sled he got for Christmas and I could pull him around in it which helped a lot. Here are some pictures from our day.

He was very excited about this huge icicle

....Until he decided to shatter it on this pole,
remember the destruction phase I was talking about

Fun in the sled.

Yeah he can already drive in the snow.

Ultrasound

It's a Girl!!!

Here she is. This was the best profile picture we got. The video is way better. She was moving all over the place, very active. I was almost afraid we weren't going to find out the gender because the tech had so much trouble getting her to lay still to get a good shot for us. When I watch the video now, it's obvious. But she wouldn't lay still long enough for out tech to freeze the frame. We might have another Dylan on our hands as far as the energy level goes. I was so nervous when we got there that something was going to be wrong with the baby. I didn't have a preference for boy or girl so I didn't think about that much, although I was excited to find out. When the tech said "you see those 3 little white lines" I knew it was girl, thanks to Stacey explaining her ultrasound pictures to me. I looked at Gene and said "It's a girl" He was ecstatic. His face just lit up, just like when we found we were having a boy the first time.

She moves around so much now, and it makes everything feel real. It's going to be so different this time. I have never in my life, well once with Morganne, changed a girls diaper. It will be a learning experience for me. And the fact that we get to buy pink is so exciting. Now I am by no means frills and lace, but I do like girlie stuff. I'm glad Gene's sister is having a little girl, they will only be 2 months apart, since my side has 6 boys already. I need John and Stacey to move back up here so the girls will be able to grow up together. Hopefully that will happen eventually, until then we will have to settle for yearly vacations to Florida. Luckily with Holly having a girl too there will be one girl up here for her to play with, that we know. I have a few other friends that are pregnant that we don't know what they are having yet.

I will say I am very nervous about raising a girl, more so than raising a boy. I'm not sure why. I think it's those high school years, they intimidate me. Good thing Holly is going to go through it first with Morganne, maybe she can give me some pointers.

Well we are still working on names. Nothing is set as of yet, but we have a few in mind so we will decide on one soon enough.

Christmas

I feel like we didn't have a lot of time to really get into Christmas, with being gone until the week before and being so busy before we left. So we didn't even get a tree up until the Sunday before Christmas, but it turned out to be a good thing because Dylan liked taking everything back off of the tree and throwing it across the room. I think I redecorated the tree everyday. Plus we got a cheap little tree from big lots so it was anything great like we're used to. But you don't care about our tree, you want to know about Dylan's Christmas. He had a lot of fun opening gifts and playing with the boxes. He didn't understand why he couldn't open all of them, that some of them weren't for him, so that was funny. Anyways here are some pictures from our Christmas:

You know it was a short tree when Gene is taller than it :)
Cheese!!! Santa brought dinosaurs!!

And here's my big kid....

The holidays this year were so much fun. It makes us realize how blessed we are. I love the time we got to spend with all of our family and then with all of our friends for New Year's.

Sorry this post was a little late, I tried a few times but my computer is still picking on me a little. I think its me.
