Sorry

So finding time to blog and remembering to blog is way harder than I thought it would be. So I just want you all to know I am really trying, but I'm not doing great at it. I am going to post a few updates in this one to get caught up and hopefully I can do better.

Birthdays...

All three of our birthdays fall pretty close together so we decide we were going to take a night and go to Carribean Cove, the indoor water park on Michigan road. We went on a Friday and spent the evening at the waterpark, it was pretty neat. Dylan wasn't sure about it on Friday. Then we went back down Saturday morning and he like it much better. Here are some pictures of Dylan playing in the water.

Dylan found the complimentary cookie

Daddy and Dylan all ready to go

Dylan looking out the balcony, Gene reassured me multiple times that Dylan could not fit throught those bars
Dylan making sure we had everything Dylan playing in the water

He loved these little things. He would lean over and stick his face in them. It was funny.

Easter...

Dylan wasn't that into Easter yet this year. We got him a basket and put a little bear in it. I was hoping he would latch on to this for comfort instead of the blankie. He walks around with his blankie and I'm afraid he's going to trip. So I kept giving it to him all day. He would give it a little hug and then move on. At bedtime when we got all situated to read our book I gave him his blankie and the teddy bear. But once I started singing and he rolled over to get comfy he threw the bear, so I picked up and gave it back to him. He then preceeded to take it and throw it across the room. I guess he would rather have his blankie. I place the bear in his crib by him every night but I don't think he cares. He had two Easter egg hunts, and he didn't really care about either. He loved being outside, obviously, but could care less about those eggs laying around everywhere. Mommy and daddy helped because we know that was the only way we were going to get any candy.

There isn't much else going on right now, so I will post a little more later.

12 month pictures

I've been meaning to post this for a week now, but kept forgetting. Not only that but Dylan seems to think if I'm on the computer he should be destroying something, so it isn't very often that I can get on here. But anyways enough excuses. We took Dylan the Friday before his first birthday to get his pictures done. He was so busy playing with the football they had there that it was really hard for the photographer to get any pictures of him, but she did capture one very cute picture and I was able to just select one pose, ecspecially since Dylan wasn't cooperating in any of the others. So I thought you'd like to see the 3 professional photos we have had done. He is 3 months in the first one, 6 months in the second, and 12 months in the third.

It's amazing how much he's changed in just his first year. He is such a sweet boy. He is happy all the time, loves people, loves attention, and is usually a joy to be around. When I take him out to the store or something he is constantly drawing attention. People will just walk up and start talking to him. He is such a sweetheart, I don't know what my life would be like without him. Not near as complete as it feels right now.

1st birthday!!!

Sorry so late!! So Dylan turned one this past Sunday, the 22nd, but we had his party on Saturday out of convenience for everyone. Here are some pictures from the party...

Dylan's very own cake

The dot on his head was not his doing, I think uncle Brandon was helping a little!!

After papaw decided to help, the cake wound up in Dylan's lap, he did not like it

He was not excited about getting clean either

This is a baseball shirt Aunt Janna and Uncle Ryan bought Dylan, notice the pink writing. This is probably the closest he'll come to wearing, well that's what Gene says anyway.

Dylan had lots of helpers to open his gifts with. He is in there somewhere.

So I never dreamed that him turning one would be as hard as it was. I shed a few tears over it, and even now thinking about it makes me sad. I guess you hear cherish every moment because it goes so fast, but until it's your child you don't truly understand. I look back and wonder where the time went. We keep so busy all day long that it seems like the day just started and it's already over. He has been and still such a blessing to our lives. It's amazing how much joy and worry, and love one little boy can bring to your life. As I sit here typing my heart feels so full, and I realize how blessed I am to have Dylan and Gene in my life. They are my two most favorite people in the whole world. I love you both so much, thanks for making my life so happy and full of fun, you're the best.

Just a picture....

TOO CUTE!!!

Sunny days!!!

Indiana weather, you gotta love it. I mean we can have 30 degree weather and 70 degree weather in the same week and us Hoosiers don't even bat an eye at it. Well it's been great having these warm days, the only problem is then Dylan gets used to being able to be outsid, and he loves outside, and then it turns cold and we're stuck inside again. So this has brought on something new for Dylan, he now throws fits. I wouldn't call them temper tantrums yet, but he is well on his way to one. He will throw himself back while I'm holding him and when I lay him down on the floor he starts kick and screaming. The first time I tried reasoning with him (I know, don't laugh) "Dylan is cold out we can't go out today, we have to wait for a warmer day". Well if you haven't already guess this didn't work and only made him scream louder so he could drown me out, so I think. So next I tried just laying him down and saying well I'm going to the kitchen you can come when you're done. Well instead he got up and followed me screaming and then layed down in the kitchen to continue his fit. Oh boy are we in trouble. This only lasts a few minutes until he gets side tracked though.
So I had Curtis for the day yesterday, he's my friend's little boy. Curtis is about 7 months older than Dylan, and he is a lot of fun. Dylan and Curtis don't play together yet, but I think one day they might be good friends. Well here are some pictures of our adventures at the park....

Sorry the pictues aren't great. I was hoping to get some really cute pictures, but you know what, these are very busy boys and they weren't always in agreement on which direction to run.

Official walker

So Dylan is now officially walking. It's funny, I'll be in the kitchen and I can see his little head bobbing up and down on the other side of the table as he's coming to find me. He still falls here and there but now he gets up and just keeps going, not much crawling anymore. I can't believe how much my baby is growing up. He started going to a bible study class on Sunday mornings with one other little girl. Now he will point and look up and try to say God, its amazing to watch. His bible study teacher is awesome. She's very animated with them and keeps him occupied for a whole 1/2 hour which is very hard with Dylan. Well here's a few action shots of him walking. Yeah still I haven't figured out the whole video thing, anyone have any tips for me?uh ohand we're off

The finished project

I am so proud of Gene. This was our first huge project that we did ourselves, of course there was help from both of our dads which we greatly appreciate. It looks awesome. Its fun going in there to get ready or whatever just knowing that this was all our doing. And plus, it really beats the blue, blue, bathroom it was before. So we are looking into starting another project, but that will be done by professionals. New walls and ceilings in the living room and dining room. We just happen to know a few plasterers, pretty good ones too, I must say.
